Yoshi Miyamoto a. k. a Pocket Groovy is a music creator, an engineer, a remixer for music from Pop, Rock, Electronic to Orchestra, TV/Film scoring and Games.
His great sense of sound and knowledge of audio engineering makes him also a great editting and mix engineer.
During a course of his 11 years in music bussiness, he has earned credit for more than 50 CDs and has released remix tracks for variaous artists and also has created music for a most popular TV show in U.S.

Early age
Born in Japan, but influenced from so many different kind of music from so many cultures.
He had studied and played music from the Japanese ancient court music to the Western minimal music, a hard rock to an electronic music.
At the age of 3, he started playing a classical piano.
At the age of 12, he formed a rock band and started playing an electric guitar.
It was also the time he found his passion in music composition.
He had composed a few original songs for the band.
At the age of 18, he started learning GAGAKU, Japanese ancient court music, and played SHO, Japanese free reed musical instrument consists of 17 slender bamboo pipes, at festivals and wedding ceremonies.
Because he loves and admires an American music so much, in early '90s, he moved to the United States to pursue his dream to become a music composer.
At Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, he had studied Music Composition including advanced music theory, conducting, orchestration and so on.
As a final assignment for the graduation, he composed an unique 20 minutes poetic symphony for a full orchestra, inspired by a poem of Edgar Allan Poe.
After gradated from the university, he moved to Los Angeles, CA to seek an opportunity in a film and music industry in Hollywood.
Professional career
While he was searching for a job of an internship or apprenticeship for a professional music composer, he met Mr.Daisuke Hinata who is one of the most popular music producers/composers in Japan.
Since then, he had worked for Mr.Hinata’s studio, Variable Speed Audio as an engineer/remixer/music creator for 11 years.
He has been credited as an assistant engineer/an engineer for more than 50 CDs, including a soundtrack for a most popular TV drama in Japan “Love Generation” and a soundtrack for a Hong Kong movie “King of Comedy” directed by “Shaolin Soccer”’s Stephen Chow and numerous hit songs for Japanese artists, and also award wining albums for Cuban music series released in Japan & U.S.
He is also known for a unique style of remix tracks.
His remixes have been released on a CD and iTunes music store in Japan.
